Use this One Habit to Transform Your Life and Achieve Lasting Happiness

Updated: Jan 28

One of the most valuable gifts we can give ourselves is true self-acceptance. But what does that actually mean? To me, self-acceptance is embracing who I am—all the good, the bad, the regrets, and the “wish I’d done it differently” moments. It’s about accepting myself fully.

Self-acceptance also means committing to learning about who I am so that I can be better each day. I think of this as connecting with my “Wise Self”—my intuition, my gut, the core of who I am. When I truly listen to that inner voice, the best things happen. But when I try to follow someone else’s path—whether in my personal life or in work—it rarely feels right or works out as well. Inspiration from others can help, but what’s most important is learning to hear and trust myself.

Finding that inner voice takes slowing down. It requires time alone to reflect, to tune out the noise, and to step back from the opinions and expectations of others. When I allow myself this space, I can actually listen to what I’m saying inside. I’m able to create the life I want, rather than just reacting to whatever comes my way.

When I’m in this place of calm and acceptance, I’m able to make the choices that are best for me. See, we’re all different. What’s right for me may not be right for you. But when you’re able to tap into what’s true for you, you start creating a life that’s truly yours—something remarkable, because there’s only one you.

Self-acceptance requires brutal honesty with yourself. That means peeling away what others have told you, past lessons, expectations, and all the noise around you. It’s about being honest with who you are, what you value, why you do what you do, and the steps you’ll take to reach your goals—no matter what anyone else might think.

Remember, you’re worthy of all life has to offer, through the good times and the challenging ones. If you’re going through a tough season, like separation or divorce, know that while it’s not easy, it’s also a time for growth. This is your chance to learn more about who you are, make choices rooted in self-acceptance, and create a future that’s uniquely yours. If you're looking for a little push, I'm offering a 7 Divorce Challenges and Solutions course designed to help you get through this tough time with clarity and support.

You are worthy. You are loved. You are important. And you’ve got this.
